Introduction: Unlock your greatest potential as a brass learner and teacher. We each bring to the educational process a diverse reflection of who we are and how we study. Explore how understanding cognitive learning styles improve our playing, practicing and performing. In this session, I will introduce the core concepts of my original research in adapting Kolb’s Learning Style Inventory’s four modes of learning, ie. thinking, reflecting, doing and analyzing and how they relate to brass performance and education. I will share my results and implications in how effective it actually is when we integrate these practices in with our educational processes. Together we will consult the touch points of your primary learning center and implement strategies to zone in on what works best for you in playing, teaching and learning.
